Earthbound Modernism

This residence strips luxury down to its raw essentials—form, material, and atmosphere. A restrained palette of walnut, onyx, velvet and stone defines the interiors, grounding each space in weight and intention. The living area is anchored by sculptural furniture and tactile contrasts: ribbed upholstery, geometric woodwork, and low-slung profiles all composed within a grid-like rug. Throughout, artisanal textures—such as carved travertine, charred wood, and hand-blown glass—create a tactile rhythm that moves seamlessly from room to room.

Ritual, Rest, and Geometry

Every room is a study in balance. The bedrooms layer soft geometry with saturated warmth—burnished reds, ochres, deep violets—while light filters through sheer drapery, catching on brass and wood grain. Bathrooms are designed as sanctuaries, clad in richly veined marble with monolithic tubs and floating surfaces. Across the home, there’s a persistent dialogue between weight and lightness, density and flow—designed not to impress, but to endure.

About the Space

Tucked behind tall hedges and wide stretches of glass, Stonewood is designed to slow things down. The layout flows openly from room to room, while each element — from the handwoven chairs to the warm wood paneling — is placed with intention. Neutral tones ground the space, allowing textures and materials to carry the atmosphere. The curved sofa, sculptural lighting, and art pieces were chosen not just to look good, but to feel good — the kind of details that make you want to stay a little longer.

Design Approach

This home balances modern clarity with quiet character. Natural light fills the space through floor-to-ceiling windows, softening the edges of the clean architecture. There’s a calm rhythm to the interiors — layered textiles, soft curves, and thoughtful accents. Every piece was selected to speak to comfort, but with a clear sense of form and purpose. Stonewood isn’t a showpiece. It’s a home built for calm, for clarity, and for living well.

Ground Floor - Inviting Elegance and Iconic Design

The ground floor is a welcoming area that merges functionality with high-end design, showcasing furniture by Norr11 and our exclusive VD Signature coffee tables illuminated by Davide Groppi’s lighting. Our VD Signature Marble Line defines the aesthetic of the space, with a refined library adding depth and character. Together, these elements create a harmonious and inviting environment.

First Floor - Elevated Aesthetic and Customized Luxury

The design narrative extends to the first floor, where premium furnishings from Diza and our custom VD Signature marble coffee tables bring a tailored elegance to the space. Each element has been selected to enhance the sophisticated, contemporary atmosphere, presenting a seamless blend of style and functionality.

Refined Details for Showroom Inspiration

On the first floor, an Antonio Lupi bathtub and sink are displayed as centerpiece features, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship and design that define VD Maison. Complemented by fittings from Newform, these items embody luxury, while custom VD Signature marble tables and a bespoke library complete the space with practicality and style.

Second Floor – Artful Composition and Statement Design

The second floor reveals a curated interplay of bold textures and refined silhouettes. Bar chairs by Woo, upholstered in the iconic Tiger Mountain fabric by Dedar, line a bespoke bar designed in-house to anchor the space with sculptural intent. Nearby, an Antonio Lupi armchairs pairs effortlessly with an Aurea sofa, while a VD Signature marble coffee table sits beside the fireplace—creating a warm, inviting corner. Every element has been composed with deliberate contrast, balancing rich materials and custom design in a harmonious visual rhythm.

Basement – Purposeful Design with a Refined Edge

Dedicated to workspace and functionality, the basement level maintains the project’s commitment to thoughtful design. Office and staff areas are illuminated by architectural lighting from Wever & Ducré, casting clean lines and subtle highlights throughout. Bespoke built-in elements provide tailored storage and working solutions, seamlessly integrating practicality with the overall aesthetic vision. The result is a calm and efficient environment that supports the daily rhythm of the team while reflecting the project’s cohesive design language.

The apartment is set in a space with classical architectural features, including high ceilings, ornate crown moldings, and large arched windows. The rooms are designed with a mix of modern furnishings and classical architecture, such as the kitchen with its sleek cabinetry set against intricate ceiling details. Large windows allow natural light to accentuate the clean lines and artistic fixtures within each room.

All elements coming together help to create a sense of historical elegance

The design is a balance between the building’s classical roots and a modern, artistic aesthetic. Bold colour choices like the deep reds and yellows add a vibrant touch to the space, while marble elements and herringbone wood flooring give it a timeless luxury. Transparent surfaces, such as glass cabinets and mirrored tables, add a layer of sophistication and reflect both natural and artificial light, elevating the airiness of the rooms.

The bedroom adds a touch of contemporary futuristic art

It has a dominant piece of furniture – a platform bed with a gray upholstered frame and headboard. French Eclectic Heaven

Set within a historic Westminster building, this London apartment was ingeniously reimagined to accommodate a family of three and their cat. The comprehensive services of VD Design and Development were enlisted, encompassing property acquisition assistance through to architecture, design, construction, and furnishing.
We tried to come up with a sophisticated and cohesive interior design project that combines contemporary aesthetics with classic elegance.

Embracing the French eclectic style, the design visually elevates space through clever use of shape, texture, and colour

The living room is illuminated by an artistic chandelier that resembles a cluster of white leaves or petals, adding an organic and sculptural element to the space. The bedroom focuses on a warm wood, which pairs beautifully with the marble and neutral fabric tones. Premium brands like Poliform and Artifort were used alongside bespoke pieces including a marble dining table, onyx coffee tables, custom wood paneling, built-ins, and rugs, resulting in a space that’s both functional and aesthetically appealing.

This cozy but quite spacious apartment is a refined blend of classic and contemporary styles in a historical city center. The whole space is elevated with timeless craftsmanship, where the original plaster moldings on the ceilings are mixed with a bold, sculptural lighting fixture. The open-space area with kitchen and living room presents a touch of minimalism, with marble surfaces and sleek, handleless cabinets. Integrated state-of-the-art appliances signify the kitchen’s blend of functionality and streamlined design.

Ample natural light, plush textiles and frames views of the outdoors, merging indoor comfort with the beauty of outdoor scenery. Rich, burgundy walls frame a walk-in shower with marble details, offering a spa-like retreat. The bathroom is transformed into an oasis of sophisticated comfort, where every detail is designed to enhance relaxation. Modern Masculine Touch

This apartment, designed for a young man, is the epitome of masculinity.It radiates an understated but quite intimate, warm, and sophisticated atmosphere with a contemporary design. The open-space with its deep cushions on the comfy sofa suggest comfort and relaxation. A low-lying, dark-toned coffee table sits in front of the sofa, adding to the space’s modern aesthetic.

Our goal was to create an apartment using natural materials in combination with metal, stone and marble.

Subtle lighting highlights architectural features and artwork, creating an intimate atmosphere. This includes recessed lighting and stylish modern fixtures that complement the dark tones of the furniture and fittings. Unique architectural features such as curved walls and built-in niches are used to create visual interest and break up the monochromatic scheme.
